I disagree that Angel was merely arm candy for Buffy. Even though we don’t get to see as much of his character as in Ats, he still had some deep and meaningful moments like in Amends or Prom. His love for Buffy is what made me like him; he’d do anything for her. He was an actual character and not just arm candy.
