During the earlier seasons of Buffy, a monologue would play saying “In every generation there is a chosen one. She alone must stand against the vampires, the demons and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer.” They stopped playing it after season one. I think it’s because Buffy wasn’t alone anymore, she had the scoobies.
